The Mini Dướng Paper Flower Workshop was part of the event series “Dialogues with Paper”, organized by Maypaperflower, Bách Tác Space, and Zó Project. The event took place on October 12, 2025, at Bách Tác Space, featuring two sessions: a Mini Dướng Paper Lotus Workshop in the morning and an Artistic Paper Lotus Arrangement Session with a Floral Artist in the afternoon.

The space was filled with creative energy and warm laughter from the participants’ delicate, skillful hands. All slots for the mini workshop were fully booked — a testament to the charm of Dướng paper, a traditional handmade Vietnamese material, and the enduring allure of Hue’s paper flower craftsmanship. From humble sheets of paper, participants discovered the story of Vietnamese paper flowers — from Thanh Tiên village, the cradle of the craft, to Maypaperflower’s contemporary creations, where paper blossoms into timeless art.

Under the guidance of artisan and founder Phan Ngọc Hiếu, each participant carefully cut, folded, shaped, and assembled their first paper lotus petals. What seemed simple required patience, sensitivity, and rhythm — as if breathing life into each flower. Every finished lotus carried not only beauty in its form but also the soul of its maker.

“Challenging but deeply enjoyable,” participants shared, admiring the Dướng paper lotus they had crafted by hand.

In the afternoon Floral Art Session, Floral Artist Nhân Trí led participants through a meditative approach to flower arranging, guided by the minimalist philosophy of “Less is more.”

The result was a series of serene and elegant Dướng paper lotus arrangements, reflecting the essence of Vietnamese aesthetics — refined, peaceful, and soulful.

More than just an event to explore traditional craft and heritage, “Dialogues with Paper” became a space for connection and co-creation - where each person’s hands and heart gave rise to new forms of art.
